Latido Global was born from a lifelong dream of our founder, Katelyn Hernandez.
After becoming a nurse, the first thing she thought of was how to make the largest impact. After researching many countries and working with a diverse patient population, she realized that the greatest need exists in areas right in our backyard of Latin America, where even the simplest healthcare solutions are missed due to poor access, funding, governmental controls, or education.
When she met her husband, Julio, and learned of his stories from Cuba, alongside his family's experiences with sub-par healthcare, some even contracting hospital acquired infections, she shared her goals with him.
So together they agreed, something had to be done.
Latido Global is about connection. Nurses and medical providers partnering with locals to promote care with dignity, helping communities be empowered with the knowledge and tools they need to thrive. it's about listening, caring and showing up with open arms and open hearts.
We encourage non-medical volunteers along with medical providers, nurses, OTs, PAs and more to reach out to offer their time and resources in assisting Latido Global to fulfill our mission.
Because every heartbeat matters
